Accommodations and Transportation
Arrangements and expenses for travel and accommodations are the responsibility of each participant in the conference.
Accommodation
Hotel rooms are being held at the hotels (& Halls of Residence) listed below at a special rate for delegates attending WEIS 2009. Rooms are being held under the block name "UCL WEIS Conference." Please make certain to secure your room before the room blocks are released. Note: The cutoff date for discounted rates at all the hotels for the conference is June 1st, 2009. Normal rates may apply after this date.
To receive the discounted rates be sure to mention University College London (UCL) and the WEIS 2009 conference (if further confirmation is needed, please refer the hotel personnel to UCL's Department of Computer Science and the contact person Ms. JJ Giwa (see contacts details below)). Booking should be made early in order to assure availability at the discounted rate.

Travel
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport.

Transportation
There are three main airports in London and a few options for travel between airports and central London:
- London Heathrow - journey time to the center of London is 40 minutes by Underground train and 15 minutes by Heathrow Express.
- London Gatwick - journey time is 30 minutes by mainline rail services into Victoria Station, which connects to the London Underground Victoria Station, and UCL is about 15 minutes from there (to the Warren Street Underground Station).
- London Stanstead - about 50 minutes on mainline rail to Liverpool Street Station, which is also an Underground station, and from there to Euston Square (a short walk from UCL) is about 20 minutes.
London is well-served by transport links, both for travelling to and from London from the UK, Europe and the wider world, and for getting around the city. UCL is located in the Bloomsbury district at the very centre of London.
Once you're in London you can travel on the famous London Underground (the tube), rail, taxi, bus, and more. Detailed information is available on the Transport for London web site.

London Underground
The closest underground stations to UCL are Euston Square on the Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith and City Lines, Goodge Street on the Northern Line and Warren Street on the Northern and Victoria Lines.

National Rail
London has many mainline rail stations. Most of these are a short journey away from UCL, with the stations at Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras being within easy walking distance. Trains from London serve destinations across the UK.

Eurostar
St Pancras International is the London Eurostar terminal. Just a few minutes’ walk from UCL, this offers you direct high speed rail connections to Paris (2hrs 15 mins) and Brussels (1hr 50 mins), with onward connections to many European destinations. Please see the current Eurostar timetable here.
From Heathrow to UCL
By London Underground (Piccadilly Line) to Russell Square or King's Cross/St.Pancras. Journey time 55 minutes.
By Heathrow Express to Paddington station. Journey time 15 minutes. From Paddington take the London Underground (Hammersmith/City, Metropolitan or Circle Lines) to Euston Square.
From Gatwick
By train from Gatwick to Victoria station. Journey time 30 minutes. From Victoria take the London Underground (Victoria Line) to Warren Street. Journey time 10 minutes.
By train to St Pancras station. Journey time 45 minutes. From Kings Cross/St Pancras underground station take the London Underground (Hammersmith/City, Metropolitan or Circle Lines) to Euston Square. Journey time 5 minutes.
From Stansted
By the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street station. Journey time 45 minutes. From Liverpool Street take the London Underground (Hammersmith/City, Metropolitan or Circle Lines) to Euston Square. Journey time 10 minutes.
There are bus and taxi alternatives from each of the airports. Taxis will be expensive, possibly over £50. Use only registered metered taxis from taxi ranks and confirm the approximate price before starting your journey.
